Volunteers
Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming Volunteer awards are presented at the Annual Recognition Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Marnie Eistetter Figure Meet.
All names submitted are checked for eligibility to other categories and awards such as SaskSport and Canada Artistic Swimming. The recipients of the Volunteer Recognition Awards are decided by the Nominations and Recognition Committee.
Volunteer Service Award (3-5 years)
Awarded to special Volunteer Members who have shown 3-5 years of consecutive service to Artistic Swimming at the Provincial and/or National level.
Volunteer Honor Service Award (8-10 years)
Awarded to special Volunteer Members who have shown 8-10 years of consecutive service to Artistic Swimming at the Provincial and/or National level.
Volunteer of the Year Award
The nominee must have been involved with Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming in the capacity of Volunteer, Official or Administrator in the past year. The nominee must have been involved in at least on of the following areas:
- volunteer committees;
- in some capacity at meets (club/provincial/national/other);
- initiating and executing new ideas to improve artistic swimming in Saskatchewan;
- encouraging active participation in artistic swimming;
- increasing public awareness of artistic swimming;
- assisting in the development of artistic swimming as a sport in Saskatchewan
Club Volunteer of the Year Award
There are some amazing people working at the club level that also deserve to be recognized. This award will also bring awareness and recognition to what that volunteer is doing within their club.
Description: An outstanding contribution by a club member who has demonstrated a special commitment to their club within the past year or a number of years. Nominee must be an active member of SAS.
Official of the Year Award
Outstanding contribution by an official who has demonstrated a special commitment to Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming within the past year or over a number of years.
Description: Given an ever-changing sport, there is a considerable amount of continual development that occurs for officials. Unlike our other volunteers, our group of officials contains individuals that often don’t have current ties to the sport. Many officials have past ties to our sport, but many don’t have children actively participating nor are they involved as coaches. This specific award for officials helps to acknowledge these achievements and contributions. -
Nominations should come from the group of Officials (as opposed to coaches, athletes, parents, etc.) to avoid perceived Conflict of Interest.
With the creation of this award, officials are not eligible to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award
Lifetime Member Awards
This award is given in recognition of over 20 years as a volunteer at the Provincial and/or National level and includes a Lifetime Membership with Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming. Other lifetime members are those who donate to the Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming "Planned Giving" program.
