Grassroots Committee
Chair: LIndsay Ritter
Mandate: To promote, encourage and support the development and delivery of programs for Recreational, Limited Competitive and Provincial Stream Athletes.
Goals
- To have Artistic Swimming active in all districts with indoor public pools.
- To increase under-represented and aboriginal participation.
- To provide support to athletes making the transition from non-competitive to competitive.
- To integrate Long Term Athlete Development into programming.
Committee Responsibilities - Recreation and Provincial Pathway
- Design, develop, and deliver programs for recreational and provincial pathway artistic swimmers in the province - summer and winter.
- Conduct an annual review of recreational, provincial pathway and inclusive programs and camps.
- Develop a budget for the Grassroots programs and submit to the Finance Committee.
- Coordinate the content of the Grassroots portion of the annual funding submission, in consultation with the Executive Director.
- Prepare and monitor the Grassroots portion of the annual budget, and work with the Vice President Finance/Administration to develop policies and procedures related to the administration of funds.
- Work with other Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming Committees as required.
- Prepare a written report for the AGM to summarize the activities of the Committee for the year
Committee Responsibilities - Athletes with a Disability (Cognitive or Physical)
- Review the strategic plan and information from the annual planning meeting to design priorities for the Committee.
- Establish an annual plan that includes objectives, tasks, responsibilities and deadlines.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of the annual plan to ensure tasks are accomplished as planned or re-adjusted as necessary.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of the annual budget and suggest adjustments to the Committee as necessary.
- Communicate with assigned staff members and offer feedback advice as needed.
- Increase the opportunity and awareness for athletes with disability.
- Increase awareness and educating clubs to offer programs for Athletes with a Disability.
- Assist clubs with offering quality programming for athletes with disabilities and groups.
Committee Responsibilities – Adult/Masters/University
- Review the strategic plan and information from the annual planning meeting to design priorities for the Committee.
- Establish an annual plan that includes objectives, tasks, responsibilities and deadlines.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of the annual plan to ensure tasks are accomplished as planned or re-adjusted as necessary.
- Communicate with assigned staff members and offer feedback advice as needed.
- Promote quality programs that encourage adults, masters and university students to participate in artistic swimming.
